Krix launches new-generation MX Modular Cinema Systems

Any updates and line-up changes from a brand that takes as much care with its development as Krix are always worth taking note of. The popular Australian maker has some important news for home cinema installers.

Krix has unveiled a trio of new modular front-wall systems designed to further develop its Real Cinema at Home philosophy. The new MX-30i, MX-40i and upgraded MX-20 Mk2 bring deeper bass, more dynamic impact and greater installation flexibility for medium to large dedicated home cinema rooms.

New infrasonic subwoofers for MX-30i and MX-40i

The left, centre and right modules remain the same but the headline change in the MX-30i and MX-40i is a brand-new infrasonic subwoofer design that extends performance beyond the audible range. It is all about delivering that physical, room-pressurising cinema experience that installers and homeowners increasingly want from higher-end rooms. This improvement increases immersion and audience involvement pulling the viewer further into the action.

The new 18in low-frequency driver is engineered for realism allowing the audience to feel the sound as much as hear it. A reversible cabinet design with dual terminals gives maximum flexibility when orienting the subs during installation.

The matching height and slim depth make it easy for existing MX customers to upgrade to the new sub modules, providing installers a clear upgrade path to offer customers as well as entice new ones. These changes make the MX-30i and MX-40i particularly attractive for installers looking to deliver true cinema-grade bass without adding complexity behind the screen wall.

MX-20 Mk2: a major upgrade to a popular model

The MX-20 has long been a favourite for dedicated rooms. The Mk2 version brings upgrades across every front-wall module resulting in higher output, lower distortion and greater control of high-frequency dispersion.

The new 12in low-frequency driver (up from 10in) plus a larger 2.5in voice coil for cleaner, more powerful delivery are both present.

A move to a Krix constant-directivity horn and one-inch compression driver replacing the earlier dome tweeter and waveguide deliver greater precision and dynamics. Also included is increased power handling across the LCR modules rising from 500W to 700W RMS and the reversible subwoofer design with dual terminals supports a more flexible installation approach. For installers the Mk2 offers a meaningful step forward in output and refinement without changing the footprint that made the MX-20 so popular.

Real Cinema at Home, engineered in Australia

Krix continues to design and build all MX systems in Australia maintaining its long-standing focus on precision manufacturing and cinema-grade engineering. As with previous models the systems are designed for behind-screen placement allowing sound to come directly through the image just as it does in commercial cinemas.

Availability in the UK is planned to begin in March 2026. Get in contact to find out more about this important new introduction from Krix.
