Polk Audio, the leading International award-winning designer and manufacturer of high performance audio products, respond to the demands of the CI industry by releasing the brand new OWM3 architectural speaker.BACK TOP
The OWM3 is a dedicated Surround/Satellite that’s about as unobtrusive as an on-wall speaker can be. Equally capable of being part of a 2.1 second zone system, or as a multi-channel surround system, the OWM3’s unique curved design and integrated base make it easy to mount in a corner or simply place on a table. In fact, with the OWM3 you have seven different mounting possibilities, including angled wall mounting and with a standard articulating wall mount bracket (an optional accessory).
The OWM3 incorporates a 11cm driver, which employs Capacitive Coupling Bass Technology (CCT) for low frequency response, which is impressive given the speaker’s ultra compact size. A choice of either white or black finish makes the speaker blend in easily to any decor. It’s simple. It’s easy. It’s pure Polk Audio®.
CAPACITIVE COUPLING TECHNOLOGY
CCT effectively improves low-frequency extension, yielding almost 3dB more output over the lowest part of a speaker’s bass frequencies. To put that in perspective, 3dB is the equivalent of doubling input power.
CCT creates a slight impedance dip within the range where conventional sealed-enclosure loudspeakers are subject to reduced bass output. In other words, the speaker will draw more power in the bass range. Lower impedance within this critical frequency range means more bass output by using a power amplifiers’ ability to deliver more power into the bass frequencies. Thus, the OWM3 plays surprisingly loud over the lowest portion of its frequency range. The net result for the OWM3’s performance is 3dB more bass output. It’s as if the loudspeaker’s enclosure grew by 30 to 50% in volume.
SPEAKER PLACEMENT OPTIONS
The OWM3 Satellite/Surround Loudspeaker is an exceptionally versatile loudspeaker, offering seven (7) different placement options. The speaker mounts unobtrusively on a wall, either horizontally or vertically, on a wall and angled facing down, in a corner, on a shelf, again either horizontally or vertically, and from a standard articulating bracket (not included) that gives you the utmost in aiming flexibility. The OWM3 is capable of being part of a 2.1 second zone system, or as part of a 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 surround system.
