Netstreams unveils iPad integration and support for Apple TV and iTunes
Suffolk, UK, 1st June 2010 – NetStreams, exclusively distributed in the UK by specialist distributor Invision UK, has released a new iLinX application to facilitate complete one-touch control of its powerful DigiLinX whole house entertainment and control system from Apple’s new iPad.
Designed to take advantage of the iPad’s revolutionary multi-touch interface, large screen and high quality graphics, the new enhanced app will be available from Apple’s app store from July 2010. It will support all NetStreams’ DigiLinX touch screen functions and capabilities and enables control of A/V, lighting, HVAC, curtains, blinds, TV lifts and more from the iPad’s intuitive user interface. The app brings full power to the palm of the user’s hand, including all two-way features and metadata from the convenience of a wireless touch screen.
Furthermore, the iLinX app enables full two-way integration of Apple TV and iTunes. Any DigiLinX source can be identified as an Apple TV or iTunes source within Dealer Setup and, when that particular source is selected, iLinX will switch into direct two-way control with no synchronisation required.
Features include:
· Browsing of music, movies, music videos, podcasts, audiobooks and TV shows
· Thumbnail cover art in browsing mode
· ‘Now playing’ control
· Playback position control with interactive progress slider
Chris Dawson, product manager for residential CI at Invision UK, said: “Sales of Apple’s iPad have already exceeded a million units after less than a month on the US market and it has just launched in the UK. There is no doubt that the convenience of using the iPad as a wireless control interface is going to open the home automation market up to a broader audience and we are absolutely delighted that we can now offer iPad control for the NetStreams DigiLinX system to our accredited dealer network and their clients.
“There is no set-up required. The iLinX app utilises NetStreams’ StreamNet technology, which enables the iPad to provide a user interface with the same features, characteristics and system control capability of any DigiLinX touchscreen.”
