Invision UK unleashes Polk’s flagship LSiM
Invision UK, the leading trade-only distributor of integrated AV solutions for residential, commercial and marine applications, has confirmed that Polk Audio’s LSiM Speakers are now available in the UK.
An update of Polk Audio’s long-standing LSi range, these re-engineered speakers cover the full gamut of home audio requirements, from floorstanding tower speakers and bookshelf versions to centre and surround channel designs. All members of the LSiM Series have quality cast aluminum frames, Super Cell Aerated polypropylene cones, floor spikes and rubber trims on the driver baskets for a true high-end look and build.
“We’re delighted to be able to offer Polk’s LSiM Series to our custom installers,” explains Chris Dawson, Invision UK Product Manager. “As well as being used to create a dream home cinema for clients, these high performance loudspeakers are versatile enough to be used for almost any high-end audio set-up in a domestic setting. Using custom-designed components and furniture-grade wood enclosures, the sensibly-priced LSiM Series is just what custom installers need for projects across all budgets.”
Heading-up the LSiM Series are two 4-way floorstanders that both include transducers constructed using Polk’s own anti-distortion Dynamic Balance technology. Boasting computer assisted-geometry and cutting-edge construction using the best composite materials, the LSiM 707 and LSiM 705 represent the ultimate in sound reproduction. Both feature an Extended Linear Motion (ELM) 3.25inch mid-range driver and 1inch Advanced Isotropic ring radiator (AIR) tweeter within Polk’s Dynamic Sonic Engine enclosure. The LSiM 707 features a 6.5inch ELM mid-woofer driver and dual 6x9inch ELM subwoofers, the LSiM 705 a smaller ELM 5.25inch mid-woofer and dual 5x7inch ELM subwoofers.
Smaller, but no less pivotal in creating superior cinema sound are the LSiM Series’ bookshelf, centre-channel and surround speakers. Polk’s LSiM 703 is a bookshelf design that uses similar technology as the LSiM 707 and LSiM 705 floostanders, but does away with the internal subwoofer.
The centre channel is provided by both the LSiM706c or LSiM704c – each a high performance speaker designed to be the lynchpin of the front soundstage in a home cinema setting. The LSiM706c uses two 6.5inch woofers and a dual PowerPort Bass Venting system that’s designed to keep pace with the flagship LSiM 707 floorstander, while the smaller LSiM704c’s twin 5.25inch woofers and identical PowerPort tech are tailor-made for pairing with the LSiM 705 floorstander.
Finally, Polk’s 702f/x is a surround speaker that builds-in a proximity switch for corner placement. Fitted with a 3.25inch mid-range driver, the 702f/x utilises two 1inch AIR tweeters and a 6.5inch mid-woofer driver.
